Verge (XVG) is a cryptocurrency which operates on a decentralized and open-source basis and aims at providing user privacy. Verge offers increased privacy options by hiding the geolocation and IP address of its users. Verge originated as DogeCoinDark in 2014 before rebranding to Verge in 2016. The project is completely open source and community-operated, with a worldwide team of contributors. The project’s lead developer is currently the pseudonymous Sunerok. No ICO was held upon launch, nor did any pre-mining take place.
The Verge network allows for public and private ledgers to take place on the same blockchain, with users free to choose which service they prefer.
