BlackRock Signals Ethereum Trust Interest with Delaware Filing Amidst Crypto Market Rally

Ether (ETH) experienced a surge of about 7% in the session, reaching $2,105 amidst a broader rally in crypto markets.

BlackRock, the asset management behemoth, appears to have officially registered an iShares Ethereum Trust in Delaware, according to a filing from Thursday. BlackRock had previously filed with the SEC to launch a spot bitcoin ETF on June 15, with the disclosure for the planned iShares Bitcoin Trust appearing on Delaware's website on June 8. The paperwork was submitted by an entity named BlackRock Advisors, with the registered agent identified as Daniel Schwieger, who coincidentally shares the same name as a managing director at BlackRock according to LinkedIn.

While this filing suggests BlackRock's potential interest in an Ethereum Trust, there is no formal proposal submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) at this point.
