Trump to Deliver Keynote at Bitcoin 2024 Conference Despite Assassination Attempt

Former United States President Donald Trump will deliver the keynote address at the Bitcoin 2024 Conference in Nashville, Tennessee, despite surviving an assassination attempt on July 13 in Pennsylvania. The event's organizers confirmed Trump's participation, quelling speculation about his attendance after the attack during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The Bitcoin Conference, scheduled for July 25-27, confirmed Trump's decision on Sunday. "We are proud to host him and to share the solidarity of the global Bitcoin community and our universal commitment to free speech and peaceful democracy," the conference announced online.

Organizers are coordinating closely with security teams and Trump's Secret Service detail to ensure the safety of the event.

On July 13, Trump survived a brazen assassination attempt during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The gunman, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire, injuring Trump's right ear and tragically killing a spectator. The FBI is investigating the incident as an act of domestic terror.

Following the assassination attempt, Bitcoin saw a notable surge. Bitcoin (BTC) rose by 5% to reach $63,000, attributed to Trump's pro-crypto stance and the perception that his presidency would be favorable for the cryptocurrency industry. Trump-themed Polifi tokens also increased in value.

Market analyst Tony Sycamore from IG commented: "Trump's pro-crypto stance and the odds of his reelection galvanizing after the shooting have given a significant boost to crypto markets, with Bitcoin standing out."

During a fundraiser in San Francisco in June, Trump positioned himself as a champion for cryptocurrency, opposing Democratic attempts to regulate the sector.
