Amazon Web Services Brings Blockchain Templates for HyperLedger and Ethereum
Amazon’s cloud computing arm - Amazon Web Services has recently announced the launch of new blockchain service by unveiling blockchain networks for the Hyperledger and Ethereum protocols.
On Thursday, April 19, the launch of this new services was announced on the AWS Blog which marks as the first significant venture of Amazon in the blockchain space. The newly launched Blockchain templates by Amazon Web Services will make is absolutely easy for users to build their own blockchain networks very quickly.
The launch of the Hyperledger networks using the template service will be private, however, Ethereal networks launched through AWS can either be public or private.
Jeff Barr, the Chief Evangelist for AWS, said: “We are launching AWS Blockchain Templates today. These templates will let you launch an Ethereum (either public or private) or Hyperledger Fabric (private) network in a matter of minutes and with just a few clicks. The templates create and configure all of the AWS resources needed to get you going in a robust and scalable fashion.”
The launch of the blockchain templates can be seen as a big push in the blockchain development as several startups and companies can now use them in several industrial applications like financial services, supply chain management, property records and other applications.
AWS is already said to have partnered with some popular organizations like Corda R3, Sawtooth, PokitDot, Quorum having a focus on applications like auto-adjudication, identity resolution and supply chain integrity applications. Korda has got a very interesting application as it allows users to create distributed apps on the AWS platform.
Last year, AWS’s head of worldwide financial services business development - Scott Mullins said that the company is very much aware of the importance of investing in the integration of the blockchain technology.
He said: “Today in financial services, distributed ledger technology is at the forefront of any discussion related to innovation. AWS is working with financial institutions and blockchain providers to spur innovation and facilitate frictionless experimentation”
In addition to Amazon, other big giants from the cloud computing industry are working on developing blockchain-based enterprise solutions.
Last month search giant Google reported that it’s working on its own blockchain-related technology which will support its cloud business in “developing its own distributed digital ledger that third parties can use to post and verify transactions.”
